This world makes you wonder sometimes, doesn't it! Earthquakes, cyclones, tornadoes, our whole earth seems to be shaking--and if it is isn't happening to you in the "earth", perhaps it is in your own personal life.
God's Word continues to be "right on", with predictions about all kinds of troubles, even of persecution of a major or to a lesser degree. How good it is to know that God walks with us through it all; God knows, and God cares. How good it is to know that we have a foundation that is unshakable and sure.
Psalm 46 says this: "Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea..." Verse 2
Continue to place your faith and trust in the God who has given everything for you and loves you so! In Jesus, we have God's yes regarding us being created in God's image and regarding God loving and offering to us a living relationship.
Friends, that's Good News!! Have you received this gift, and are you living, resting on the solid foundation, no matter what happens. You can take that to the bank!!
In Christ,
Pastor Mel Leach
Statement of Faith
Christ United Methodist Church of Fraser
We Believe:
1. In the Holy Trinity, one creator God; the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is infinite in love, perfect in judgments, steadfast and merciful.
2. In Jesus Christ as God's Son incarnate, fully God and fully man, who was sent to all persons by God. We believe in His sinless life, His miracles, His atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension, and His eventual return.
3. In the Bible as the infallible Word of God and that "All scripture is God breathed and useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness" (II Timothy 3:16) God's Word is timeless and is relevant. We embrace its teachings, including the Christian lifestyle regarding sexuality and the sanctity of life.
4. In the sanctifying grace of Jesus Christ, which through individual surrender, can cleanse us from sin and transform us into the image and likeness of God.
5. That the Holy Spirit can enable the Christian to live a Godly life. That Jesus Christ called us and the Holy Spirit compels us to serve as ambassadors of the faith, sharing Christ's saving grace with others.
6. In prayer as an essential aspect of the Christian life and its function for active two way communication with God.
7. That the Church is the community of Christian believers. Through the Church, Christ continues His work in the world by our daily witness, sharing of the gospel, and obedience to His will.
